Text: John 4:23 (KJV)
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the
Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Friends, God is not merely searching for people
who sing songs or attend religious gatherings; but He is seeking true
worshippers whose hearts are fully devoted to Him. A true worshipper worships
God sincerely, not only with words but with a life surrendered in obedience and
love. Worship is more than music; it is a lifestyle of honouring God in
thoughts, actions, and daily living. Hence, many people worship outwardly while
their hearts remain distracted or far from God, but true worship flows from
genuine intimacy with Him. So, as true worshippers let’s worship Him in spirit
and in truth. This means worship must come from the heart and align with God’s
Word. Psalm 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are
a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” God
delights in humble hearts that seek Him sincerely rather than outward
performances meant to impress people.
Amazingly, true worshippers experience a deeper
relationship with God because worship draws them continually into His presence.
We can see many whose sincere worship brought divine encounters and favour.
David was known as a worshipper whose heart longed passionately after God, and
despite his weaknesses, he continually sought the Lord with sincerity. The same
with Paul and Silas in prison, and heaven responded to them with supernatural
deliverance. As true worshippers, you cannot allow the seasons of waiting to
silence your worship because it is rooted in trust and love for God. Psalm 95:6 says, “O come, let us worship and bow down:
let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” Therefore, let’s worship Him
not only when life is easy but also in moments of difficulty and uncertainty.
As you become a true worshipper, may God draw you closer to Himself as He transform
your heart in Jesus name.
Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, make me a true worshipper who worships You sincerely in spirit and in
truth with a heart fully devoted to You, in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Friends, true worship
is not about outward appearance but about a heart completely surrendered to God.
