Victory Over Death

Happy Easter

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:55–57 (KJV)
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Friends, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate declaration of victory over death. Yes, death, once feared as the final end, has been defeated through Christ. When Jesus rose from the grave, He removed the sting of death and broke its power over humanity. What once held people in bondage is now powerless in the face of His resurrection. Romans 6:9 - Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. Unfortunately, many still live in fear of death, whether physical, spiritual, or even the death of dreams and opportunities. But the truth remains, Jesus has already won the victory. Through His death and resurrection, sin lost its hold and death lost its authority. So, we are no longer slaves to fear or condemnation. The victory of Christ gives us boldness and assurance that nothing not even death can separate us from God’s love. Even when situations seem lifeless or hopeless, the resurrection reminds us that God has the final say. What appears to be the end can become a new beginning through His power. John 11:25–26 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Interestingly, victory over death is not just about eternity but it affects how we live, today. So, you are called to live with confidence, courage, and hope. Therefore, fear should no longer control your decisions because Christ has already secured your future. Whether you are facing challenges, let’s stand firm in the truth that victory is already yours in Him. 2 Timothy 1:10 - But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. Therefore, live as one who has overcome. Walk in faith, speak life, and refuse to be intimidated by any form of death around you, because Jesus lives, you have the assurance of life both now and forever. Remember, in Him, death is defeated, victory is certain, and your future is secure in Jesus name.

1. Lord Jesus, thank You for giving us victory over death make us to live boldly in this truth in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, remove every fear of death and fill our hearts with confidence in the victory of Christ in Jesus’ name.
