Text: Luke
22:20 (KJV)
Likewise also the cup after supper,
saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
HAPPY NEW MONTH OF APRIL
Friends, the table of the Last Supper was more
than just a gathering, it marked the establishment of a new covenant. In the
Old Testament, covenants were sealed with the blood of animals, but Jesus
introduced a better covenant, sealed with His own blood. This covenant is not
temporary; it is eternal, and it invites us into a living relationship with
God. At that table, Jesus offered His disciples a new way to connect with God, one
built on grace, mercy, and redemption. The cup was more than a symbol of sacrifice;
it was a promise that through His blood, sins would be forgiven, and access to
the Father would be restored. Hebrews 8:6 But now
hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator
of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” This
reminds us that Jesus mediates a better covenant, founded on better promises.
Amazingly, this covenant is personal. It is not
merely something to observe, but something to live in daily. Through Jesus, you
are no longer bound by guilt or the limitations of the old ways. Matthew 26:28 - For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. It confirms
that His blood was poured out for the remission of sins, and Exodus 24:8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on
the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made
with you concerning all these words.” showing how the covenant was
sealed with blood, pointing forward to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ. Today, let’s reflect on what it means to sit
at His table. You are invited, accepted, and covered by His grace. Are you
living like someone who belongs to this covenant? Let His covenant guide your
life, actions, and heart today, in Jesus name.
Prayer Points:
- Lord Jesus, thank You for establishing a new
covenant through Your blood. We are grateful for the access we now have to
the Father in Jesus name.
- Help us to live daily in the reality of this
covenant, walking in grace, obedience, and faith in Jesus name.
Action Quote: Remember to live daily as one who belongs to the
covenant of Jesus with grace, forgiveness, and access to God.
