Text: Ephesians 6:16(KJV)
Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Friends, another important
weapon for our defense is the shield of faith. Remember, challenges are there
to weaken our confidence in God. Yes, like the romans shield which was large as
a covering for the entire body but extinguishes flaming arrows, so is our faith
as a shield that covers us completely and extinguishes the enemy’s attacks of
doubt, fear, accusation, discouragement and frustration by blocking them from
gain entrance into our minds. Psalm 3:3 - But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and
the lifter up of mine head. For instance, we see the case of father Abraham
believed God’s promise against natural impossibility by faith. Also, David
trusted God against Goliath, despite overwhelming odds. And these men of old got
their testimonies. Therefore, we should learn to choose faith over fear,
truth over doubt, and victory over defeat at all times. Romans 8:37-Nay, in
all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Surprisingly, we are exposed
daily to fiery darts that is launching against our expectations. Hence, without
faith the arrows fired against our lives will penetrate us resulting into
negative thoughts, intimidating circumstances, unanswered prayers including
unexpected trials. Proverbs 30:5 - Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them
that put their trust in him. So, with a raised faith, it
affirms God’s supremacy over life challenges. Then, we should carry the shield
of faith as to trust God’s personality when the situations are confusing. It is
the shield of faith that makes us stand firm when outcomes are delayed.
Remember, faith does not deny the reality of trials rather it declares that God
is greater than the trials in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh Lord, help us to build spiritual resilience that will
quench every form of fear, doubt and anxiety in our pursuit in life in Jesus
name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, the shield
protects only when it is raised consistently.
