Pulling down strongholds

Text: 2 Corinthians 10:3–4 (KJV)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)

Friends, strongholds are not always visible, but they are powerful and they truly exit in different forms. Unfortunately, they often exist in the mind, as it affects our thinking, beliefs, fears, and habits which opposes the truth. But, Christ has already won the battles on our behalf and ours is to stand and pull down the oppositions that are against our divine identity and authority in Christ. The good news is that God does not leave us helpless though our weapons are not carnal rather they are mighty through God who helps us to cast down imaginations that bring hindrances. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.   Hence, we must learn to bring down every unfavourable situation in prayer and by faith with God’s word. Yes, the scripture reminds us that although we live in the flesh, our battles are not fought with fleshly tools rather we should be strong in the Lord as to face the uncertainties in our world. Ephesians 6:10 - Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Interestingly, through Christ, we are given spiritual weapons that are mighty through God. This is where the God factor comes to play with divine power working beyond human ability. So, we must learn to pull down strongholds which begins by identifying thoughts and beliefs that contradict God’s Word. John 8:32 - You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Then, we have to replace such lies with the truth of God’s word which makes darkness to loss the grip of the enemy over us. Let’s be encouraged because victory is not achieved by willpower alone, rather by submitting every thought to the authority of Christ and God will help us in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

Oh Lord, we pull down every stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of the truth as we bring every thought to the obedience of Christ in Jesus name.
