And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
Friends,
this profound truth should resound in our minds daily. The question is, have we
truly made room for Jesus in our hearts? Yes, the birth of Jesus reveals that
the Savior came, but there was no room for Him. The Inns were full, hearts were occupied, and lives
were busy. That notwithstanding, yet heaven’s greatest gift arrived and was
humbly laid in a manger. We should no longer consider only physical space
rather examining our hearts and taking away worries, distraction and several
other habits as we make space for His presence, His will and His reign in our
lives, today. Mathew 6:33 - But seek
ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you. This can
be a reflection of hearts that is too busy, in that it did not recognize God’s
visitation. Hence, Jesus does not force His way in. He stands at the door and
knocks, patiently waiting for us to open. When we make room for Him, He brings
peace, purpose, and transformation.
Amazingly,
we can see that Mary made room through her obedience as she declared “be it
according to thy word”. Also, Joseph
despite the betrayal he trusted God’s space over oppositions and forgave his
brethren. However, we can leave everything today to encounter the king of the
world, who is a gift to humanity. Revelation
3: 20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and
open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. I encourage us to become sensitive for
divine visitation as we make room for Jesus in our innermost being. So, let’s make room for Jesus today as to
enjoy inner peace and divine direction with a transformed character in Jesus
name.
PRAYER POINT:
Lord Jesus, I open my heart to You
today as you remove every distraction, burden, and idol that competes with Your
place in my life in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, it take a willing heart to always find
room for Him.
