The Word as a LAMP

Text: Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Friends, we are in world filled with darkness, so, it becomes very necessary to seek for light as to walk out of confusion in our challenging time. So, the word is a lamp to us for guidance, direction and illumination that keeps us in focus for a positive outcome. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  It helps us to clearly make right decisions and choices especially in an uncertain days. Hence, the word of God is our source of spiritual light and understanding as it is God’s word with truth which is wrapped with divine wisdom. We must learn to return to the word of God as to enlighten our paths daily. There are pitfalls in life, so as believers the words shows us way out of the confusion and escape route from sin as we dwell in understanding of the truth. Therefore, let’s allow the word not just to inform us but to transform our lives today. Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go. Remember, Jesus is the living word and we must allow the word to shape us.

Amazingly, the good news is that the word from God gives clarity on matters concerning all areas of our lives - spiritual, moral, mental, emotional, social etc that helps us to live ever ready for the Master. God may not show us the full picture of our future, but through His Word, He gives us enough guidance for each day, one step at a time. 2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place.  When we walk in the light of His Word, we avoid stumbling in life’s dark paths of fear and sin. I pray we shall spend time reading and meditating on God’s word as to renew our minds and our hearts shall shine His image today in Jesus name.

Father, reveal the truth of God’s word to us that will bring peace in our inner man, as the word never fades away in Jesus name.
