Text: 2Corithians
5:7 (KJV)
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Hebrew 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Friends, our physical sight can only
see what is happening around us but faith is not blind but it is visionary.
Hence, many of us are living in fear and not in faith today because we live by
sight. But the scripture above encourages us to live by faith and not by sight.
So, we should not live by what we
can see or understand with our natural eyes. Hebrew
11:6 But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Yes, this requires us to build absolute trust in
God’s promises who is more than able, even when the circumstances seem uncertain or discouraging.
Obviously, when we look with the physical sight, we can easily be threatened by
the challenge of life but when we develop our confidence in the big God, He is
more than able to deliver exceedingly above all we ask or think. 2 Cori. 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are
temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Like Abraham,
he did not see the land God was showing him but he moved. And he made of him
great name and great nation as to become a blessing. Therefore, let’s see the
invisible hand of God working behind the scenes as to avoid doubt, fear, and
impatient etc.
Interestingly, we have to believe what God says more than
what our physical senses, emotions, or situations are telling us. For instance Peter walked on water toward
Jesus (Matthew 14:29-30), he succeeded as long as he focused on faith,
not the visible waves but began to sink as he looked down. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and
lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths. This
means that our decisions and actions has to be based on our trust and faith in
God’s Word, not just what appears logical or visible especially now that we are
in the world filled with knowledge. I pray we shall act with faith, knowing
that God’s unseen hand is guiding us even in that unclear situation in Jesus
name.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh
Lord, help us to trust in God’s
invisible promises over visible problems that is stopping us today in
Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember to believe that His plan is good, even when the
path is unclear.
