COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

 

Text: Psalm 103:2(KJV)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.

Friends, the mistakes many make is not seating to count in detail God’s faithfulness because of the overwhelming life challenges and pressure. Yes, His benefits are uncountable if only we can deliberately reflect both inward and outward of His gifts. 1 Thes.5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  But, our scripture above reminds us the need to count our blessings as many forget His benefits. It is important to take time out to recognize and appreciate the good things in your life. It is not time to focus on things that are not working, what you don’t have or what is going wrong. So, no matter the challenges you face, we are encouraged to number the goodness of God in our lives both tangible and intangible. Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hence, we shift our minds from complaining but now in thanksgiving as this helps us to find joy in God’s hand work upon us. Therefore, let’s pause to list the blessings, and you will see how much he has done even now.

Interestingly, counting on the faithfulness of God takes your mind away from the lack that brings about the worries and the discouragements which led to hopelessness today. Psalm 107:1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Yes, but when you itemize His goodness in food, shelter, health, supplies, love, breath, hope, promises, tomorrow etc you will see that they are endless. Also, remember, to count from the gift of life to your salvation experience with Christ. They are indeed countless. So, start now to count them as it swallows the complaint in this season. I pray we shall not forget all His goodness but write down in detail for a heart full of thanksgiving in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:  

Father, forgive my attitude of ingrate as you teach to launch me into a life of countless blessings of God’s mercies today in Jesus name.
