Text: Numbers 14:24 (KJV)
But my
servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me
fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall
possess it.
Friends,
the life of Caleb and Joshua was an uncommon one because of what they were made
of by walking with a different spirit. They saw things differently from the
rest of the spies sent to Canaan. They refused to live in rebel and fear as
many do today when they are confronted with life challenges. But, these men rather saw the challenges as
bread as their defense is in the Lord because we can see that the Lord is with us.
And this the best attitude in a time like this – a different faith, different
obedience, different report etc. and not murmuring which has become very
common. Deut.1:36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and
to his children, because he hath wholly followed the Lord. Caleb
followed God with his whole heart, not half-heartedly.
Amazingly,
in the course of their search, they concluded that the land is an exceeding
good land while they stilled the people, that we are well able to overcome and
possess the land. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind. Hence, they had a wholehearted spirit that
brings about confidence in them that they will never bring evil report as they
did not see the giants against them rather as bread unlike the others that were
in their own eye as grasshoppers. But today, the Lord is giving us a new spirit
that will give us boldness over our challenges in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
1.
Father, help us to trust God and not to live with negative influence that makes
many come with evil report in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, walking with a different spirit requires
positive confession in the face of storm.
