Text: Job 5:17-18
(KJV)
Behold, happy is the man who God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: for he maketh sore,
and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
Friends, as human we have tendencies
to make mistakes but we must learn to go for correction by the word. Remember, God’s word binds up the wound and
His hands make whole. Unfortunately, many faint or get depressed because they
don’t like corrections which comes to us for a better living and ultimately for
our rest. Proverbs 29:17- Correct thy son, and he shall
give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. But, the good news is that they are for
our training and edification which brings about our encouragement. So, do not
underestimate or despise God’s sent word for our correction.
Amazingly, we should be open to
embrace God and His word because He does more than what any loving father can
do for his children. He can rebuke us out of His love and still accept us even by
those words of instruction. So, we should not be resistant to instruction
because that might be the way to destruction and frustration. Hence, all God's
instructions are for our benefits and not His, so always welcome the word of
life as we heed to them daily. Remember, the one He loves, He chastises. Proverbs 3:12- For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even
as a father the son in whom he delighteth. The purpose and benefit of
learning are to put them into application. So, how much of God’s corrections
did you attain to or practically act on in your everyday life? I pray, we should
learn to attend to His words and not make verbal resolutions in our lives in
Jesus name
PRAYER POINT:
1. Father, help me to yield to God absolutely, as to enjoy
the profitability of His correction in every area of my life in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, His words rectifies our shortcoming for a Godly living
