Rebuke for calmness

Text: Mathew 8:26-27(KJV)

And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him!

Friends, I wonder your response to a stormy and windy situation? The question is, in the midst of chaos what do you do? The truth is we all response differently based on how knowledgeable we are. From the scripture above, the disciples were fearful but Jesus attitude was that he rebuked the wind. And it is at the rebuke of the wind that we receive calmness as the men marveled. So, let’s learn to act as Jesus acted by rebuking the challenge that is threatening our lives today. It is possible if we are prepared and equipped with the knowledge of the living word.

Amazingly, Jesus asked the disciples “why are we fearful?” It says in Exodus 14:14- The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Therefore, remember you are not alone in the battles of life. Jesus is in control and he shall bring calmness to that situation. But let’s stop murmuring and cast our cares on him today. 1Peter5:7- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. It is not time to keep quite but to speak to the storm before you. In so doing we shall enjoy peace unspeakable in Jesus name.

1. Father increase our faith as we declare great calmness by our trust in God in Jesus name.
