Be Imitators of Good

 

Text: 1 Thessalonians 1:6(KJV)

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with Joy of the Holy Ghost.

There are many people who look out for attention but we must be careful to identify who we truly follow. Amazingly, as we meet people we have the tendency to learn so many characters directly or indirectly. But one identity we can copy from others is to receive the word with joy in spite of much affliction that is predominant in our time.  So, we must resolve to follow and learn the good habits that can help us transfer our personality on a daily bases. Unfortunately, several others develop negative attributes that mare their identity as a whole by wrong followership.  2Thes. 3:9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us. Friends, let’s make ourselves good examples that can influence others positively.  Remember, goodness is from God and evil is from godlessness, therefore lets follow good as to bear good fruits from our tree of life.

Interestingly, the scripture above reminds us to be follower of good even as we follow Christ. It can help you drop negative behaviours and grudges that has limited many. Therefore, let’s make Christ our perfect standard as He is our perfect example and also those that imitate Jesus. 1 Corinthians 4:16 Wherefore, I beseech you, be ye followers of me. Though, we have thousands of instructors in Christ, but not many are fathers. So be careful to be the faithful and not some that are puffed up.  Remember, imitating good is a principle that can transform one for the best. And this is possible with the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.      Oh Lord, help us to be imitators of those who quietly exemplify humility including hardwork and love for God as a lifestyle in Jesus name.
