Choice of Compromise

 

Text: Genesis 19:32(KJV)

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

The decision made by Lot’s daughters was another hazardous choice. The effect of which is still reaping its generational victims till date because they lowered the standard of the family. This was one case of incest which we still hear around families today.  It was a choice taken as they saw a need to preserve seed of their father seeing he was getting old. The two daughters being left along with their father in a cave was dangerous as it exposed them to this option that is detrimental to family value. But the moment of this decision they never imagined what will be the aftermath of that choice. Mark12:19 Master, Moses wrote unto us. If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him and leave no children that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Remember, we make choices daily, but we should ask ourselves what will be their outcome?  Friends, most choices of course are meant for good intention but they are evil in disguise.  Let’s be careful.

Unfortunately, they made their father drink wine that night as to lie with him because of seed. Today, the question before us is, the seed we are preserving, is it a positive seed that can be reckoned with or negative seed that will bring shame and disgrace to the family? I encourage us to always make tomorrow’s choice today with the right motive because it can either bring glory or shame to the large family. May God have mercy on us in Jesus name.

 1. Father, deliver us from the effect of our choice of compromise as a result of ignorance in Jesus name.
