Text: Hebrews
9:14(KJV)
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
In this journey of life, there are some behavioural patterns
which we cannot stop by our efforts but his blood has done it. 1Peter2:24 “He himself bore our sin” in his body on the
cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness, “by his wounds
you have been healed.” Even with all the efforts and motivational tips
we hear today, we still end up fighting with those patterns, but here is the
good news, due to the death and the blood of Jesus, we can be free from those
patterns because His blood purges our conscience from every dead works. The
dead works entails carnal things which can never please God because they are
not spiritually minded and are against God’s commandment. They are fleshly
things which are enmity to God. Romans 8:8- So then they that are in
the flesh cannot please God. The amazing fact is, our involvement with Christ takes away
every condemnation because of the old life of walking after the flesh. So this
means all those guilt and condemnations which are hindering our services are
dropped which makes us no more slaves
to those dead works.
Remember, if there are dead works that means there should
also be good works. And Christ is the originator of good deeds. Be encouraged
because He has purged our thoughts and imaginations, so that we can yield good
products. Proverbs 16:25- There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the
end thereof are the ways of death. Those dead works leads to destruction while good works leads
to life and peace. The blood of Jesus has redeemed us; without it all efforts
are worthless because our conscience is now clear. Ephesians 1:7- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. So always remind yourself that you
are blameless and spotless by His blood in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
1. Thank you Jesus because we are
changed from dead works to good deeds in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, to live now in your new nature as a regenerated being.
