Text: John
2:2-3 (KJV)
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to
the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him,
they have no wine.
Usually, the absence of sweetness and refreshment comes as a
challenge in our endeavours. But we must
develop a strategy to overcome all. There is always a tendency for a shortage,
scarcity, or even dryness on our daily experience, which usually does not have
any timetable. One fact about life that marvels me is, life challenges have no
respect for faces, ages, races even gender. But it will surprise you to know
that your purpose in destiny can determine your type of challenge. We can see from the illustration text, Jesus
and His disciples were invited to a wedding, and at that wedding, the wine
finished. It was an opportunity to express his purpose and capacity. Can you
imagine, in the presence of our great Saviour that wine finished? That is to
connect to His calling. At this point,
Mary did not see Jesus as her son, but instead as the Saviour and that was the
beginning of the miracle. She said to the servants, “whatever He tells you to
do, do it”. Isaiah 1:19-If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land. Jesus transformed that tasteless,
colourless water, which was present to prove His God nature.
The truth is, there is still a gift in every one of us no
matter the current challenge, it has come as a platform to case your relevance.
Who would have thought that “water”
which is tasteless and colourless, would have been the source of transformation
and a miracle? Hmmmm, there is “THE BEST AT LAST EVEN IN YOUR LIFE”. Don’t loose hope on your purpose. So I urge
every one of us not to commonize the source of our transformation or even to
get over-familiar with the source of the instruction. Just invite Jesus and
obey the instruction. 1 Samuel 15:22b- Behold, to obey
is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. The
amazing part is that the wine which was transformed by Jesus was even the best
at last than the original one. Relax, there is still best in you no matter the
challenge and scarcity in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, please help us to always
hear your voice in and out of those challenges, in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, may our reserved wine show
up, as we enjoy the sweeter part, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE:
There is still reserved wine in that hopeless concern.
