Text: Luke 9:62 (KJV)
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
We all have the nature of holding on to memories, but the question is, must we hold on to those memories that are hurting us? The answer is yours. The truth is, you can decide now not to cage yourself in those hurtful memories, and this can be done by forgetting the former things and not to dwell on them. Unfortunately, this is a very common mistake made by many, but we can rise now to change that. It is never too late. It says in Isaiah 43:18- Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. We often regret our past and refuse to forgive ourselves, but it is high time we look ahead and see our glorious future. There is an assurance that there are so many new and better things unfolding in our favour, so do not hold on to those memories, but instead look ahead. Philippians 3:13- Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
Due to those past experiences, many of us have been crushed and this is because of people’s behavior toward us. For some of us, it even got to the point that we made horrible decision about life. It is bound to happen because we are human, but I urge you do the opposite today. Remember, it is never too late for a change. We must always remember, we have God on our side and He has promised never to leave you or forsake you, so walk with that confidence. Just dust those memories of you and move on. The truth is that it will be hard or difficult, but just trust God to heal you of that broken heart and always remember that you are new in Christ.
