Chosen with new ID for His Praises

Text: 1Peter 2:9 (KJV)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Can you see that the reality of our personality is amazing if we look closely at the text above? You are identified and called as Holy, Royal, Priestly, Peculiar even Chosen but all is for His praises. These identities have something in common – uniqueness that means there is a transformation from your Adamic nature to a better mark of identification.  There is a new testament ID upon you.  The truth is when God created us He deposited His unique attribute in each and every one of us. Indeed, we are special beings with new identity. You can now understand why you are treasured, which means we are of a great value. We need to carry ourselves with this mindset as people called out from dark identity into a marvelous identity. WOW!! In Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) - For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. We are told that we are God’s masterpiece living by His image, and that shows that we are different from our former self.

Interestingly, we accepting to follow Christ have even made our uniqueness more special. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! You see, because we accepted Christ, we are a new creation and this new us has light which illuminates our vicinity, and wherever we are present, all forms of darkness should turn to light. Ephesians 5:8- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. We must remember Psalms 139:14- I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. So do not underestimate the beauty of what God has called you. Many of us try to hold unto the old us which is ignorant of our new reality, but it is time we let go so as to exhibit our new identity fully. I pray God will re-introduce us, in Jesus name.

1. Father, thank you for bringing us into your glorious identity with an extraordinary lifestyle in Jesus name.

2. Father, thank you for making a difference in us and showcasing us as peculiar individuals in Jesus name.
