Text: Job1:1 (KJV)
There was a man in
the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and
one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Blameless means right standing with God and a man of his word that makes
you upright. But one fact about life that amazes me is the fact that people who
are upright and perfect have become very scarce in our time. I trust God; we
can make a difference in our time. The truth is, although it is rare to see
people with this lifestyle of being upright and perfect, God still expects us
to showcase this lifestyle. God wants us to fear him, not “fear” in the case
that we are afraid of Him, but “fear” in the sense that we respect and
reverence Him. He also wants us to walk uprightly in His presence. In our
scripture today, we see that God recognized the character of JOB and said that
there is none like him on the earth. Wow!!! That means God could vouch for him.
The question is, can God boast or brag about you, even in that social status
you may be in? To be truthful, this man named Job was one who was correct in
moral standards, and we know that even the devil who wanted to challenge him
had to ask for permission from God first before he did it. This tells us we
need to learn this lifestyle of being upright and perfect, and this comes by us
having a fear of God that makes us hate evil as we renew the right spirit with
His word. Psalm 25:14 The secret of the Lord is with
them that fear him, and he will shew them his covenant.
As believers, we can live blameless
by imputing the righteousness of Christ. I tell you that we can stay away from
evil, and this can be done by us purging away from sin. We need always to remember
there is a hedge of protection upon us as we continue to live on earth. Job 1:10-Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about
all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and
his substance is increased in the land. The truth is, we can fall out of that hedge, and this
can be by us disobeying God’s instructions and not only that when we also drift
from His presence. Job was a man characterized with integrity who was totally
devoted to God. That means there is a need for continuous reverence to
God. Genesis 6:9-These are the generations
of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked
with God. The
blessings that come from this lifestyle do not just end with you, but they also
spread to your descendants. Remember, we are brought to this world to bring
honour to God, and we can do that if we distinguish ourselves and stand out for
uprightness. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1.Thank you Jesus because God has confidence and commendation concerning me, in Jesus name.
2. Father, we pray for the grace to fear God in all our endeavors, in Jesus name.
3. Father, please help us to prioritize You above everything, and may we walk and be an example of a perfect and upright believer in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Yes, to become blameless
is hard but with God you can make a difference in this generation.
