Text: Zechariah 3:4(KJV)
And he answered and
spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments
from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass
from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
Certain times, we get ourselves entangled
because of our filthy garments, and due to this entanglement, the enemy gains
access into our lives, but the good news is due to the fact that Jesus has given
up His life for us, we have been given authority to discard those filthy
garments. God is so merciful, and that is why He sent His only begotten son to
die and wash off that iniquity which separates us from God. The devil is the
author of evil, and that is why He is trying to use those filthy garments as
leverage to accuse us, but we need to resist all those tricks and remember to
have a strong faith in God. Luke 22:32- But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail
not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
One mistake we make is, we hold unto those filthy garments because of
guilt, but we must remember Christ died so that those guilt and filthy garments
will be cleansed from us. Brethren, all we need to do is to identify those
filthy garments, rebuke and learn to walk in obedience to God’s words. Never
forget you are God’s own, and you are called His chosen generation. 1 Peter
2:9- But ye are
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvelous light. Remember, you are no more with the old
garment but have been clothed with new raiment so walk with this new outlook to
the glory of God. I encourage us to be determined as we
remove the ugly garments and put on new raiment in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1.Oh Lord, please take away all the filthy garments that have clothed
and clouded our expression of God’s glory in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, please help us to recognize our new nature as we showcase
God’s glory in Jesus name.
