There is one important Need

 

Text: Luke 10:41-42(KJV)

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things; but one thing is needful; and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Mary and Martha served the Lord with zeal and capacity, but they were faced with a vital decision time which lead to Mary deciding to the needful that is the one important need as at the moment and the master commended her on that right choice of preference “she has taken the good part and it shall not be taken from her”. Martha was distracted and worried about many things, but Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to learn the needful. REMEMBER, JESUS IS THE WORD THEREFORE, SEARCH TO DISCOVER THE ONE IMPORTANT NEED. This is a vital moment to guide against distraction. You must have a scale of priority in making decisions and serving to fulfill destiny. We have opportunities to make a decision even now but the question is how decisive are you to look up to the master and not the environment which has discouraged many. Let us be careful because many are dancing in between two opinions.

Amazingly, we get ourselves worked up over everything while JUST ONE THING IS NEEDFUL, which is the main course. There is always a deciding moment in every game that is why we need to be sensitive because the tide of the game does not maintain the same frequency in all events.  We should invest in our schedule judiciously to extract the NEEDFUL.  The question we must always throw to ourselves is - what is my current demand as to avoid regrets?  Let us learn to invest in the current need, and plan to project for the future accordingly. There are still weightier matters in any field and until we go through the right process and incubate ourselves with His Spirit, we will be beating about the bush. Matthew23:23b: …. and you have neglected the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith, but do not neglect the more important things.  Martha was busy with food and serving Jesus but that was not the essential need of the moment. Therefore, take priority now in that plan on those things that are top on the list and you will achieve faster in your endeavours in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Oh Lord, may I not be too busy and lose out from the needful that will attract a kingdom advancement reward, in Jesus name.

2. Father, please help me to invest my time appropriately and avoid waste of energy on the wrong task in Jesus name
