Text:Job5:17-18
(KJV)
Behold, happy is the man who God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: for he maketh sore,
and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
As human, we all make mistakes from
time to time, but the good part is that we have a God who can correct our
errors and can rectify our shortcomings and inaccuracies as our helper. What we
have to learn is not to despise God’s discipline of correction; it might seem
hard, but it ends with happiness. We must remember that the word of God is
entirely for edifying, this is
why our Father has subscribed the Bible for us. 2Timothy3:16-
All scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. So, be excited when God steps in to
correct you. He can scold us with one hand and correct us with another hand;
this is just because He loves us. So I urge us always to be happy when we
receive those tips He drops on our way because He is a good God. God does not
want anyone of us to be lost, but instead, He is giving us an opportunity to
change our ways despite our mistakes. Proverbs29:17-
Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto
thy soul. Therefore, pay close attention to God's corrections because he
is extraordinarily patient, and he is delaying because of his faithful love
towards us. I pray we shall all be that yielded vessel in the hand of God and
will not overlook those words of corrections He exposes to us. The words we
receive from him are to amend and profit us, and His corrections are available
both in secret and in the open.
Do not faint or get depressed when
you do not like the corrections, because they are for our training and
encouragement, so do not underestimate them. He can rebuke us out of His love
and still accept us even today. We should not be resistant to correction
because that might be the way out of destruction and frustration. All God's
instructions are for our benefits and not His, so always welcome them.
Remember, the one He loves, He chastises. Proverbs
3:12- For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom
he delighteth. The purpose and benefit of learning are to put them into
application. So how much of God’s corrections did you attain or practically act
in your everyday life? We may all make resolutions in our lives, but we should always
observe if we are acting on them.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank you Lord, for the corrective power of the word of
God which is a path to the fulfillment of our destiny in Jesus name.
2. Father, help us to keep following your corrections no
matter how far we have gone on the wrong journey in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Can you remember Gods last instruction to you, if yes? Have you done all.
