Text: Proverbs 17:22 (Amp)
A happy heart is
good medicine, and a joyful mind causes healing, But a broken spirit dries up
the bones.
Worries weigh an individual down but
what picks us up is a cheerful disposition which is like doses of medicine. We
need to live and always express encouraging words because it makes one glad and
revitalizes our energy. Anxiety has become the order of the day and is a major
source of depression, which we must intentionally fight out with doses of joy. We
know several forms of medications are meant to make our body physically well
but do you know there is one medication that can treat the different parts of
human nature - physical, emotional and spiritual etc. This special medicine is
called a merry or cheerful heart,
and God gives it through the tablet of His Word. Beloved, any other source will
certainly be temporal if not just happiness which leaves you after a while. But
this kind of medicine of a merry heart gives you joy with or without any show
or activity but with eternal value. I tell you, it is divine, and it has the
power to heal any and every illness you might be going through. Amazingly, this
medication also comes in doses and once you have taken the first dose, you will
want to increase your dosage which is the juice of the Word.
Interestingly, these doses are
extracted from the Word of God when we study and meditate on the scriptures.
The enemy will succeed if he denies you the opportunity to seat at the feet of
Jesus for communion and deep fellowship in his presence. Proverbs 12:25-Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a
good word maketh it glad. The beautiful part is that these doses make your words seasoned
with joy, and that makes your joy contagious because it ends up spreading to
others around you. Jeremiah15:16-
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and
thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by
thy name, O Lord God
of hosts. There is even a greater dose from the Holy
Spirit, which every one of us can tap into today. I pray we shall see a change
in our health as we feed on the doses of His joy in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, may I carry a
cheerful and smiling disposition so that my spirit will not be broken with
sorrow in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, may I have a continual
feast in your presence so that I will not be afflicted with evil in Jesus name.
ACTION
QUOTE: Think sound as to carry a cheerful disposition as a lifestyle.
