Text: Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)
A merry heart doeth
good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Most people don’t like taking medications, but definitely a lot prefer
injections to drugs while many will say, “I hate being sick”. We know all forms
of medications are meant to make your body physically well, but the question
is, did you know that you can get a medication that treats the physical,
emotional and spiritual? This special medicine is called a merry or cheerful heart, and it is given by God through the
tablet of His word. You can pay a comedian or watch a movie to be happy, but it
is only for a while. When the show is
over, the joy leaves you, but this kind of medicine of a merry heart gives you
joy with or without any show or activity. I tell you, it is divine, and it has
the power to heal any and every illness you might be going through. Amazingly,
this medication also comes in doses and once you have taken the first dose, you
will want to increase your dosage which is the juice of the Word.
The truth is, these doses can be seen
in the word of God. Proverbs
12:25-Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it
stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. The joy you get from the first dose makes you take
more, and that, in turn, makes you have joy unlimited. The beautiful part is
that these doses make your words graced with joy, and that makes your joy
contagious because it ends up spreading to others around you. Jeremiah15:16- Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word
was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name,
O Lord God
of hosts. There is even a greater dose and that is from
the Holy Spirit, which each and every one of us can tap into today. I tell you,
there is more to this medicine, we just need to accept the first dose, and I
pray we shall see a change in our health, in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord,I receive a
fresh oil of gladness so as not to wait for the happenings around but instead
to create one for my environment, in Jesus name.
2. Father, may it be known to me that
Satan has no rightful power over my life despite the fiery darts of tribulation
to depress me, in Jesus name.
