I am Peculiar

  

Text: 1Peter 2:9 (KJV)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Can you see that the reality of our personality is amazing if we look closely at the text above. Before we go further into today’s topic, I want you to confidently say to yourself “I AM PECULIAR”. I tell you, you are truly peculiar. If I asked you, what does it mean to be peculiar? I know there will be various responses, but all those responses have something in common - uniqueness. The truth is when God created us, He deposited a unique character in each and every one of us. In our text above, He called us peculiar people, which means we are special beings with a unique divine genetic DNA. Due to all of this uniqueness in us, we are treasured, which means we have great value in us. We need to carry ourselves with this mindset. In Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) - For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. We are told that we are God’s masterpiece, and that shows that we are different from others.

Also, we accepting to follow Christ has even made our uniqueness more special. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here! We see that because we accepted Christ, we are a new creation and this new us has light, and whenever it is present, all forms of darkness turn to light. Ephesians 5:8- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. We must remember Psalms 139:14- I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. So do not underestimate the beauty in you. Many of us try to hold unto the old us which is ignorant of our reality, but it is time we let it go so as to exhibit the uniqueness in us fully. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.

1.Father, thank you for bringing us into your glorious liberty and navigating us into our extraordinary life in Jesus name.

2. Father, thank you for making a difference in me by making me peculiar, in Jesus name.
