Text: Mark
8:27-29 (KJV)
And
Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by
the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 28 And
they answered, John the Baptist; but some say Elias; and others, One of the
prophets. 29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye
that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
There are so
many opinions about who God is today, but we should get to a point in our lives
where we can define who He is to us. One wonderful thing about God is, whatever
you call Him is whom He will act in for your life or your situation. Think
about it, if you call Him your protector, He will definitely be your protector.
If you call Him your ALL SUFFICIENT GOD, He will be that in your situation etc.
Isn’t that amazing? Not only does He acts out what we call Him, but He also
reveals who He is to us. What can you call Him? Or Who is He to you. Exodus 3:14- And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he
said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto
you. God introduced Himself to Moses as the “I AM WHO I AM”, which means
He will become what He chooses to become.
Wow!! What a deep revelation. I tell you, it is high time we begin to define
who He is to us individually, and that can come through an encounter.
Experience is one of the best teacher, and by having this encounter with Him,
our faith definitely gets strengthened.
Unfortunately, many people are carrying Jesus without knowing
personally who He is, and it is about time we change that. We need to have
continuous encounters with Him for us to express and declare who He really is
to us. By having these numerous encounters, it makes us filled with Him, and we
also see different dimensions of Him that we did not see before. Ephesians 3:19- And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Not
only that, we also end up giving sincere worship to Him. John 4:24- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth. I tell you there is more to God than
you can imagine, and it is about time we declare our real
identification in Christ. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, may we develop a new approach
to experiencing and demonstrating practically this God by redefining who He is
to us, in Jesus name.
2. Father, please give us boldness to
declare who we believe in and tell others this glorious eternity package in
Jesus name.
Action Quote: Ask
your friend or anyone you talk to today, who is Jesus to them? Boldly tell them
about your real identity.
