The Leprous case is cleansed

Text: Luke 5:12 (KJV)

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

 

In our world of today, a lot of things have happened. Some might have brought shame, some irritation, some rejection, some isolation, some a negative tag and some a “BUT” in our life. But, the leprous case in our text; shows the truth that any shame or rejection or whatever negative thing can only go or end if you allow it to go. Medically, leprosy is a contiguous disease that usually affects the skin; it causes discoloration and deformities. Although it is contiguous and it has all those symptoms, it can still be treated. The same goes for us as believers. No matter the level of shame or rejection or “BUTs” you may have received in life, there is a cure, and that is JESUS. So why wait for a long time or until you get to the level of a leprous case before you ask the healer for help. The amazing part is that this cure is always available, and He is right beside you, but you just have to accept the condition you are in (be humble), and by doing this, the cure will work. It says in Proverbs 22:4- By humility and fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. The man in our text was humble, he fell on his face and asked the cure for help, and in the end, he was cleansed of his disease, so why don’t you do the same and see your testimony come your way?

 

Many of us might be in a leprous situation right now, but the truth is that it all depends on us before that cure can happen. Think of it in a medical scenario, and most people only go to the hospital when they are in severe condition. But why do we have to wait before we go to the hospital; you can still go just for a checkup, and if there is any problem, it will be identified and treated early. The same goes for believers. We can ask God for help when we just sense a question mark (or an abnormal situation) in our life. We do not have to wait for a long time before we ask for help. You just need to have faith, so as to turn that your situation around. We have been given power, so utilize it. It says in Ephesians 3:20- Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. So do not give up, because the cure which we have by our side is more than able to cleanse that situation. Just put your trust in Him and see your testimony (miracle) become a global point of attraction and never forget to thank Him. I pray God will help us, in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

1.       Father, please deal with any leprous case that has brought isolation and rejection in our lives in Jesus name.

2.       Father, we ask for the grace of humility to surrender all at your feet despite our status, in Jesus name.

3.       Oh Lord, please may the same case that isolated me also turn around to announce me, in Jesus name.
