For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Friends, growing in spiritual understanding is an important part of our walk with God. Yes, man as a tripartite being must have a balanced growth. It is not enough to grow physically and know about God but we must continually grow in our knowledge of His will, His ways, and His expectations for our lives as we journey through life. Certain times, we are quick to make decisions based on what we see, hear, or feel without seeking God's understanding and perspective to it. This becomes possible when there is spiritual growth that makes us to lean on His plans and not our thought. Proverbs 2:6 - For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. However, spiritual maturity requires us to look beyond outward appearances and learn to discern things through the wisdom of God's Word and the leading of His Spirit. Ephesians 1:17–18 -That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

Amazingly, we can see how Apostle Paul prayed that believers would be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. This shows us that spiritual understanding is something we should continually desire and pray for. We are not expected to remain at the same height year in, year out.  James 1:5 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Hence, we should not be satisfied with yesterday's understanding when God wants you to grow deeper in your knowledge of Him. This is possible as we study His Word, remain prayerful, and allow Him to shape our thinking. Remember, spiritual growth begins when you become willing to learn God's ways rather than insist on your own understanding. And I pray that God will open our hearts today, in Jesus name.

Father, fill me with your knowledge and spiritual understanding as I grow in my walk with You and to discern what is pleasing to You in Jesus' name.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Friends, one of the greatest tests of faith is learning to wait for God's revelation. Indeed, we desire answers, direction, or clarity about our situations, but God does not reveal everything at once. So, in our walk with God, we must learn to trust His timing and remain faithful even when we do not fully understand what He is doing at the moment. So. waiting does not mean doing nothing; it means continuing in prayer, obeying His Word, and preparing ourselves while trusting Him to lead us. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Amazingly, when we think that God is silent it does not mean we should walk away and it is not a reason to abandon your faith, and His timing is not a reason to rush ahead of Him. Therefore, we should not force answer or make decision out of impatience. This is the major reason for guesswork and frustration, today. Psalm 25:5 - Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. So, let us stay close to God, and let His Word guide our steps. And I pray that God will help us as we wait on Him in Jesus name.

Prayer Point: Father, give me the patience to wait for Your revelation as I trust Your timing, and remain faithful in seasons of uncertainty for Your guidance in Jesus' name,

Action Quote: Remember to wait on God with faith and patience as we follow His wisdom for direction, today.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Friends, there are seasons in life when we become so occupied with pursuing possessions and other earthly achievements that we neglect what truly matter. While these things may be necessary for our daily living, but they cannot provide lasting satisfaction for our souls. In the text above, Jesus reminds us not to spend our lives pursuing only what is temporary that can perish, but to labour for what endures unto everlasting life.  He teaches us not to make earthly pursuits the centre of our lives but diligently prioritise our relationship with God, His Word, and the eternal life that Jesus offers. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Unfortunately, we think that our next achievement will finally give us the satisfaction we desire. Yet, after attaining one goal, we discover another desire. This is because earthly things were never designed to replace God in our hearts. Ecclesiastes 5:10 says, “He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver.”  Hence, Jesus is inviting us to redirect our efforts towards what has eternal value. Invest in knowing Him, growing spiritually, serving others, and fulfilling His purpose for your life. Remember, what you gain in this world cannot replace what you have in Christ. May God help us to pursue what truly satisfies with eternal value, in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to become so consumed with earthly pursuits that I neglect my relationship with You, and teach me to labour for what truly satisfies in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Friends, do not spend your whole life pursuing what perishes while neglecting the One who gives eternal life.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Friends, just as our physical bodies need food to remain strong and healthy, our spiritual lives need Jesus Christ to grow, remain strong, and flourish. Jesus described Himself as the Bread of Life because He alone can satisfy the deepest needs of our souls. Be intentional to always eat this bread that is from above and gives life eternal. Matthew 4:4 - Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Many people spend their lives searching for satisfaction in money, relationships and possessions. While these things may bring temporary happiness, they cannot provide the lasting peace, and fulfilment that come from knowing Jesus. When the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness, God provided manna from heaven to sustain them (Exodus 16:4). However, Jesus offers something greater than physical bread. Indeed, He offers eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. So, let’s make Jesus our first source of spiritual nourishment, daily. John 6:51 - I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever…”

Amazingly, Jesus is not merely someone to run to when life becomes difficult; He is the One we need every day. We must learn to feed our spirits through His Word, remain in fellowship with Him, and trust His promises. Psalm 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Do not allow the busyness of life to make you spiritually hungry while you pursue other things. But, make time for Jesus through prayer, Bible study, worship, and obedience to His Word as to draw nearer to Him and establish us in His truth.  Remember, earthly bread satisfies physical hunger for a season, but Jesus Christ gives everlasting life. I pray we shall be spiritually nourished, daily, in Jesus name.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Bread of Life and help me to hunger for Your presence and delight in Your Word for everlasting peace in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Friends, there are seasons in life when we may see opportunities that seem impossible to reach, situations that appear closed, or circumstances that seem to stand between us and the purpose God has for our lives. But the text above reminds us that when God sets a door before us, no one has the authority to shut it.  Yes, Jesus said, “I have set before thee an open door.” The door was not opened by human strength, or connections. It was God who opened it. This means that our confidence should not be in who we know, or how strong we feel, but in the God who has all the power.  Isaiah 22:22 says, “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” So, what He has ordained cannot be cancelled by opposition, or the opinion of people.

Though we get discouraged because we have encountered closed doors. Yes, a delay or rejection may make us wonder if God has forgotten us. But a closed door does not mean that God has abandoned us. Sometimes, God closes one door because He is positioning you for another. So, do not allow yesterday's closed door to make you blind to today's open door.  In 1 Corinthians 16:9, he said, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” An open door did not mean there would be no opposition. There were adversaries, yet the door remained open. So, walk through it with faith, and wisdom. You may feel that your strength is small, just as the church in Philadelphia had “a little strength,” but God's power is not limited by the size of your strength. I pray that you recognize the doors God has opened for you and have the courage to step through them in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point:
Lord, help me not to be distracted by opposition or fear as to see every door You have opened before me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Action Quote: Remember, when God sets an open door before you, do not let fear make you stand outside what faith is calling you to enter.

Scripture: John 6:20 (KJV)

But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.”

Friends, the disciples were in the middle of the sea when they encountered a frightening situation. The wind was blowing, the waves were troubling them, and fear could easily have taken control. Then, they saw Jesus walking on the sea towards them and said, “It is I; be not afraid.”  Notice that Jesus did not first explain the situation; He revealed His presence. Their peace came from knowing who was with them. Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. We become afraid because we focus so much on the storm that we forget the One who is with us. Yes, we may not understand what is happening, and the situation may look beyond our ability, but God's presence remains greater than the circumstances around us. Deuteronomy 31:8 - And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Amazingly, when Jesus says, “It is I,” He is reminding us that we are not facing the situation alone. His presence brings courage when our strength is failing, peace when our minds are troubled, and hope when the way ahead seems uncertain.  Psalm 23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Therefore, do not allow fear to have the final word. Look beyond the storm and recognize the presence of Jesus. The same Lord who was with the disciples in the middle of the sea is able to sustain you through whatever you are facing today in Jesus name.

Reflection - Am I focusing more on the storm around me or on the presence of Jesus with me?

Prayer Point:

Lord Jesus, may we recognize Your presence even in difficult situations as fear rises, remind us that You are with us by your courage and confidence in Jesus' name, Amen.

Action Quote: Remember, the presence of Jesus does not mean there will never be a storm; it means you never have to face the storm alone.

And when they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

Friends, after Jesus fed the multitude, He did something interesting. He told His disciples to gather up the fragments. The miracle was already over, but Jesus still cared about what remained. This teaches us an important lesson never to waste what God has provided. The fragments may have looked insignificant compared with the original miracle, but Jesus considered them valuable. There may be fragments in your life today that may include small opportunities, lessons from past experiences, relationships that can still be strengthened, gifts you have neglected, resources you have overlooked, or pieces of your life that you thought were no longer useful. Please do not despise the fragments. Luke 16:10 - He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.

Amazingly, there is an assurance today as God is teaching us to recognize and value what remains. Yes, sometimes we become so focused on what we lost that we fail to appreciate what God has preserved. Ephesians 5:16 - Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  The disciples gathered twelve baskets of fragments. What appeared to be leftovers became a visible testimony of God's abundant provision. Let’s gather what remains. Preserve what God has given you. Learn from what is left. And do not waste the blessings that God has placed in your hands this season in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:
Lord, give me wisdom to recognize and properly use what You have placed in my hands. Help me not to waste opportunities, resources, lessons, or blessings as I trust You for what is ahead. Amen.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Friends, let us understand that the heart is a very important part of our spiritual and emotional life. So, what we allow into our hearts can influence our thoughts, attitudes, decisions, relationships, and ultimately the direction of our lives. But we should not shut everyone out rather be intentional about what you allow to shape your mind, values, and faith. Sometimes, a person can begin with faith and enthusiasm but gradually become discouraged because of negative words, and unhealthy influences. Then, what we repeatedly hear and think about can eventually affect how we see ourselves and our future. Therefore, we must be careful not to allow one bad experience to become a permanent conclusion about life. Psalm 119:11- Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee

Amazingly, we cannot control everything that happens around us, but we can be intentional about what we allow to remain in our hearts. Philippians 4:8 says, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. This reminds us that we have a responsibility over what we continually give our attention to. So, keep off against bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, and negative influences. Do not allow yesterday's disappointment to determine today's attitude. Let’s learn to fill our hearts with God's Word, prayer, gratitude, faith, and hope. When your heart is guarded, you are better positioned to recognize God's voice and respond wisely to His direction. I pray that God will give us the grace to protect our hearts and keep them aligned with His Word, in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point:
Father, guard my heart from everything that can weakens faith, steal my peace, or take me away from Your purpose. Give me wisdom to choose the right influences and keep my heart pure in Jesus' name.

Action Quote:  Friends, guard your heart carefully and do not allow a bad experience, negative voice, or wrong influence to control the direction of your life.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart…”

Friends, faith is not simply believing that God can do something rather it is also trusting Him even when what you see looks impossible. Yes, we often meet resistance that test our confidence in the ability of God. But, faith in Jesus teaches us that doubt can weaken our confidence in what God is able to do. Then, we must groom our faith in God to swallow the activities of doubts which plays in our minds. Sometimes we allow circumstances, delays, past disappointments, or fear to make us question God's faithfulness.  These products of doubt should not block our access to our inheritance in this kingdom. Rather we can reflect on this - What situation have you allowed to make you doubt what God can do? James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Interestingly, believing without doubting does not mean pretending that problems do not exist. But it means choosing to trust God despite what exists. And this can be possible when our eyes are fixed on the Lord. Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Remember, your situation may look like a mountain today with several challenges, but God is still greater than that high mountain before you. Therefore, keep praying by keeping your trust very active for the miraculous, today. I pray we shall keep standing on His Word for our existence in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Oh Lord, strengthen my faith as you take away doubt and help me to trust You even when I cannot see the way forward in the midst of the storm in Jesus name. Amen.

Action Quote: Remember, faith looks at the greatness and the capacity of God and not the size of the mountain before us.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Friends, let us understand that trusting God for the next step means being willing to move forward even when we do not have all the answers. Yes, we want God to reveal the entire journey before we take the first step, but God often gives us direction one step at a time. He wants us to depend on Him rather than our limited understanding. So, do not allow fear of the unknown to keep you in a place God has asked you to move from. Remember, it is one step at a time. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know who holds tomorrow. Therefore, let’s learn to take the next step in faith by praying about it, seeking God's direction, and moving according to His leading.

Interestingly, Abraham had to leave his country and his father's house before he knew exactly where God was taking him. Hebrews 11:8 says, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed.” Abraham moved because he trusted the One who called him. Sometimes, the next step may look uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or uncertain, but obedience becomes easier when we remember that God sees what we cannot see. God does not need to show you the entire road before you trust Him with the next step. I pray that we shall receive the courage and wisdom to follow God's direction, even when the path is not completely clear, in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point:
Father, help me to trust You for my next step as you remove every fear and confusion that may hinder my obedience in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Friends, you may not see the whole journey, but trust the God who knows the way we should take for the next step in faith as we rest in His hands.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Friends, let us understand that a new month can also be an opportunity for a new move with God. God is always working, leading, preparing, and making a way for those who trust Him. Sometimes, we become so familiar with yesterday that we fail to recognize what God is doing today. Isaiah 43:18 says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” God was calling His people to look beyond what had already happened and prepare themselves for something new. A new move with God may require a new level of faith, obedience, prayer, discipline, and sensitivity to His direction. Yes, God wants to take us into a new season, so forget the old pattern today. We cannot expect a new move while refusing to make room for new level of obedience. Hence, let’s watch out for a new assignment, a new level of growth, a new opportunity, a new responsibility with God ahead of the month. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) - “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

Interestingly, when God told Abraham to leave his country and his father's house, Abraham had to move by faith before he knew exactly where he was going. It means that we are willing to trust His direction even when we cannot see the entire path. Also, the children of Israel experienced this when God opened the Red Sea before them. What looked like an impossible barrier became a pathway because God was leading them forward. Exodus 14:15 says, “Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.” I pray we shall not remain where God has already asked us to move from in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Father, thank you for new month. Help me to recognize the new things for fresh understanding, fresh strength, fresh grace, and a heart that is sensitive to His leading in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Friends, don't allow yesterday's experience to make you miss today's move of God. So, stay sensitive, stay willing, and be ready to move when God says, “Go.”

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Friends, it is a double congratulations to you. We thank God for the month of October and another Independence Day celebration. It has been a journey with God by His mercy and we are thankful. Yes, freedom is more than the moment we celebrate it. John 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. So, we must continue in the liberty. It is what we do with the freedom we have received that matters.  Nigeria’s Independence reminds us of a historic moment when a nation gained freedom from colonial rule. But independence was not meant to be only a day of celebration. It was the beginning of a responsibility to build, serve, protect, and make the nation better. In the same way, when Christ sets us free, our freedom is not simply an experience to celebrate; it is a life to live daily.

Interestingly, we must go beyond the moment no matter our current state. Remember, freedom produces responsibility. Also, freedom produces growth as well as purposeful living. Romans 6:22 - But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. We should not return to the habits, fears, attitudes, and limitations that once controlled us. Christ has called us to live differently even as a person, church, and nation. The question is not only, “Am I free?”  The deeper question is, “What am I doing with my freedom?”  Therefore, your freedom is an opportunity to become who God created you to be, serve others, make godly choices, and contribute positively to your generation and nation at large. I pray we shall go beyond the moment in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:
Lord, thank You for the freedom You have given us and help us not to stop at the moment of celebration in words but teach us to use our freedom responsibly, live purposefully to become in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Remember, freedom is not the end of the journey but it is the beginning of responsibility as we live beyond the excitement.

Text: Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Friends, congratulations as we end the month with thanksgiving and put a seal by the power in the blood of Jesus. Hence, the blood of Jesus represents the price Christ paid for our redemption and deliverance. So, through His blood, we receive forgiveness, cleansing, reconciliation with God, and victory over the power of sin and darkness. Sometimes, people allow guilt and past mistakes to convince them that they are too far from God. But the blood of Jesus speaks of God's mercy and redemption. 1 John 1:7 says, “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” The blood of Jesus reminds us that our past does not have to determine our future. We can walk into freedom, and a restored relationship with God. Exodus 12:13 - And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Amazingly, during the Passover in Egypt, the Israelites were instructed to place the blood of a lamb on their doorposts. When the destroying angel passed through Egypt, the houses marked with blood were protected. This points us to the greater sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, whose blood brings redemption. Hebrews 9:22 reminds us, “without shedding of blood is no remission. Also, Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Therefore, don't allow condemnation to keep you away from God. Let’s come boldly to Him through Christ, knowing that Jesus paid the price for your redemption no matter your current situation in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Father, thank You for the precious blood of Jesus that cleanse, redeems, and gives me victory. Help me to walk continually in the freedom Christ has purchased for me in Jesus’ name.

Action Quote: Friends, never underestimate the power of the blood of Jesus because what sin damaged, His blood can redeem.

Text: Mark 10:18 (KJV)

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Friends, in this encounter with the rich young ruler, Jesus points our attention to the goodness of God. The man came to Jesus with an important question about eternal life and addressed Him as “Good Master.” Jesus directed his attention to the One who is truly good which is our God. Remember, God is not simply the giver of good things but He is the greatest good in our lives. . Psalm 73:25 says, “Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.” We can become so focused on what we want from God that we forget to value God Himself. Unfortunately, we celebrate the blessing, the answered prayer, and the promotion, but what happens when the blessing is delayed? Can we still say, “God is good”? When God is the good in your life, your life will no longer be based on circumstances. Thanksgiving becomes easy. You can praise Him when the answer comes and still trust Him when you are waiting.  So, your confidence should not be built only on what God does for you but on who God is. So, let’s discover that God's presence is greater than any possession. Habakkuk 3:17–18 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines... Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

Interestingly, when God becomes your greatest treasure, you will not allow temporary things to determine your joy, or identity. Remember, good things can change. People can change. Opportunities can come and go but God's goodness remains. Psalm 34:8 says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good.” His goodness is not merely something we talk about; it is something we experience as we walk with Him. Therefore, do not measure God's goodness only by what is happening around you. Even when you are waiting, God is still good. Even when you do not understand, God is still good. His character has not changed. So, let God Himself be your greatest confidence, and your treasure as you remain grateful today while waiting in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Father, help us to recognize that You are the greatest good in our lives and teach us not to love Your blessings more than we love Your person in Jesus name..

Action Quote: Friends, don't let what you have determine whether God is good but let who God is determine how you live, trust, and praise.

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find anything thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

Friends, if I may ask, who are you and what can people see in you from a far? For instance, the fig tree looked healthy from a distance because it had plenty of leaves. But when Jesus came closer, He found no fruit. This gives us an important spiritual lesson that God is not only interested in what our lives look like; He is interested in the fruit our lives produce. John 15:5 - “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit. Hence, what kind of fruit is my life producing for God and for the people around me? There is an expectation of fruits to bear in every life and every situation. Therefore, we should not disappoint our maker. Psalm 1:3 - The righteous person is like a tree planted by streams of water, “that bringeth forth his fruit in his season 

Interestingly, it is possible to look like we are doing well outwardly while lacking the fruit God desires inwardly. Our faith should produce love, kindness, patience, forgiveness, obedience, humility, and a life that points others to Christ. According to Galatians 5:22–23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Today, don't only ask, “How do I look?” Ask, “What fruit is my life producing?” what is my impact and my influence? God has given each of us opportunities, gifts, time, and relationships, so maximize them. Let them produce something that brings glory to Him.  Remember, a life full of leaves may look impressive, but a fruitful life makes an impact, daily. I pray we shall bear fruit that will abide in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Lord, help me to bear fruit that brings glorify to God as you remove everything that makes my life look fruitful without actually producing godly results in Jesus' name.

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

Friends, when Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was calling him, he did something significant in that he cast away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. The garment was connected to the life he had been living as a blind beggar. It represented the place where he had been sitting, the identity people knew him by, and perhaps the security he had become accustomed to. When Jesus called him, Bartimaeus was willing to leave it behind. Hence, casting away the garment does not mean forgetting your past. It means refusing to allow your past to control your future. That is a powerful picture of surrendering to Jesus. Philippians 3:13 says, “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”

Amazingly, God calls us into a new season, but we are still holding on to the things connected to our old season. We want something new from God, but we are unwilling to release the old nature of bitterness and negative habits, or labels that keep us tied to where we used to be. Isaiah 43:18–19 says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.” So, Bartimaeus understood that he could not remain where he was and respond fully to the call of Jesus. His garment had served a purpose in his former situation, but he did not allow it to become a permanent attachment. Yes, there are things that may have helped you survive one season that God may now be asking you to release so you can move forward. It is time to cast away the weight that will not allow you walk into your new. I encourage you to willingly stop allowing yesterday garment to define your today, in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Father, give me the grace to cast away every garment that is keeping me from moving forward with You. Help me release every limitation from my past as I respond to Your call in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Friends, when Jesus calls you into a new season, don't carry the garment of your old season but cast it away, rise, and follow Him.

And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

Friends, Bartimaeus was sitting by the highway, begging, when he heard that Jesus was passing by. He cried out, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” Though many told him to be quiet, he cried out even more. His persistent cry caught Jesus’ attention, and Jesus called for him.  The same Jesus who heard his cry was now calling him closer. Ephesians 5:14 - Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  Bartimaeus had been sitting, but when Jesus called, he got up. Mark 10:50 says, “And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.” He did not remain where he was. He rose and moved toward Jesus. Sometimes, fear, delay, rejection, or people’s opinions can keep us sitting in the same place. Note that the crowd did not have the final word concerning Bartimaeus. The people who told him to be quiet eventually told him, “Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.” Never allow people’s opinions to become louder than God’s call upon your life.

Therefore, be courageous when Jesus calls you, get up! Get up from discouragement. Get up from the mindset that nothing can change. Get up and come closer to Jesus. Hence, trust the One who is calling you. Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Your prayer may seem delayed, but don’t give up. Keep calling on Jesus and remain ready to respond as we take step also when He calls today in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

Father, help me to recognize Your call and give me the courage to rise, leaving behind whatever is holding me back, as I pursue a closer walk with Jesus and step into a new level with Him today, in Jesus’ name.

Action Quote: Friends, when Jesus calls you, don't remain where you are but get up, leave the past behind, and move toward the One who is calling you.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Friends, Jesus used the picture of a mountain to teach us about confronting impossible situations with faith. It is not time to be afraid of the mountain of opposition before you but it is ideal to speak the mind of God concerning that situation. There are moments when we spend so much time talking about our problems that we forget to speak God's promises over them. You can say let there be light in that dark moment. So, those challenges before you should be addressed as we declare them removed and be cast out. Hence, you can reflect by asking yourself, what mountain do I need to bring before God today? Job 22:28 - Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways

Amazingly, speaking to your mountain does not mean using words as a magical formula. It means bringing your situation before God in faith and aligning your words with His truth.  Zechariah 4:7 - Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Therefore, instead of saying, “I can never overcome this,” remind yourself, “God is with me, and I will trust Him through this.” Remember, your words should not be controlled by fear when your heart is anchored in God's promises. I pray His words shall flow from our fountain today in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

Lord, teach me to decree and declare words of faith, hope, and truth instead of words controlled by fear when I face challenges in Jesus name.

Action Quote: Friends, don’t let your mountain become louder than your faith; speak words of faith and let your faith become louder than the mountain.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Friends, doubt can make us focus more on what might go wrong than on God's faithfulness. Doubt simply means being unsure or lacking confidence that something is true, possible, or will happen. So, in simple words, doubt is “I’m not sure this will happen. Yes, sometimes doubt comes from disappointment in the past experiences and in another situation, it comes from waiting too long. Hence, it could happen as a result of simply not understanding what God is actually doing at the moment because they are unclear. But we must also learn that we do not have to have every answer clearly spelt out before we can trust God. But the question is What doubt do you need to surrender to God today?  2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Interestingly, we should learn to let go of the doubt that keeps telling us that God cannot help us or that God has abandoned us. Also, let go of the fear that says your situation is hopeless and there is no way out. It is time to erase the limiting thoughts. Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Instead, choose to place your confidence in God's character and His Word. Remember, faith does not mean you understand everything. Faith means you continue trusting God while you are still waiting for understanding. I pray we shall live in faith and not doubt, today in Jesus name.

Father, help me to release every doubt and fear that is fighting against my faith as you teach me to trust You completely and patiently in Jesus name Amen.
