Text: Habakkuk: 2:3
Friends, one of the greatest tests of faith is
learning to remain confident when what God has promised but has not yet become
visible. It is easy to celebrate a promise when everything is working in your
favour. But one of the hardest things to wait for is its fulfilment. However,
what happens when days turn into months, months into years, and the evidence of
fulfilment seems absent? The instruction in the scripture above now comes to
clearly play; WAIT FOR IT! Joshua 21:45 - There
failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of
Israel; all came to pass. Therefore, waiting on God is not an invitation
to become passive or careless. It is an opportunity to develop patience,
strengthen your faith, and remain obedient while trusting His Word. Remember,
God's promises are worth holding on to as the waiting seasons can develop your
spiritual maturity. 2 Corinthians 1:20 - For all
the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by
us.
Interestingly, let’s consider Abraham - walk with
God. God promised him a son, but the fulfilment did not happen immediately. His
journey teaches us that God's promises require faith, patience, and confidence
in His ability. Numbers 23:19 - God is not a man,
that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he
said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Do not allow the passage of time to make you abandon what God has spoken.
Neither should you allow pressure to push you into decisions that contradict
His principles. Hence, your responsibility is to remain faithful, and
steadfast. I pray we shall not exchange God's instructions for the pressure of
immediate results in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT: Oh Lord, help us to always remember that God never lies
or breaks His promises, but He is faithful to the end as we wait in Jesus name.
Action Quote: Friends, do not allow the delay of an expected result to
weaken your confidence in God's promises.
