Text: Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs
according to the promise.
Friends, understanding our root and identity in Christ is
essential to live a life of purpose. Many people define themselves by their
background, family circumstances, past or present challenges. However, those
who belong to Christ are connected to the promise God made to Abraham. Our
spiritual identity is not determined merely by our natural background but by
our relationship with Jesus Christ. According to Genesis
12:2 - And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. God's covenant with
Abraham became part of His unfolding plan to bring blessing to the nations
through Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:14 explains that the blessing of Abraham
comes to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, so that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
Amazingly, Abraham believed God even when the fulfilment of
the promise seemed impossible. Romans 4:20–21 tells
us that he did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief but was
strengthened in faith, being fully persuaded that God was able to perform what
He had promised. So, trust God's faithfulness even when circumstances
appear contrary to what we hope for. However, being Abraham's spiritual seed
does not mean that every personal desire will automatically be fulfilled;
rather, it calls us to trust God by faith as to walk in the purpose He has
revealed through Christ. Therefore, do not allow your background or present
situation to limit your understanding of what God can do through your life. Let’s
demonstrate Abraham's faith through obedience, today. Remember, our inheritance
in Christ calls us not only to receive God's blessings but also to become a
blessing to others. And I pray that God will help us in Jesus' name.
Prayer Point: Father, make me to understand my identity in
Christ, walk by faith as I live obediently to become a blessing to others in
Jesus' name.
Action Quote: Friends, if you belong to Christ, stand on God's
truth, and become a blessing to the people He brings into your life.
