Text: Psalm 16:11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is
fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Friends, true happiness is not found in the
abundance of possessions, the approval of people, or the absence of challenges.
It is found in knowing Jesus and walking daily in His presence. So, when Jesus
becomes the centre of your life, you discover a joy that circumstances cannot
easily take away. Hence, when life does not unfold as expected, His presence still
gives you peace, His Word strengthens your heart, and His promises renew your
hope. Therefore, being happy with Jesus does not mean you will never experience
sadness, disappointment, or difficult seasons. It means that in every season,
you have a Saviour who loves you, sustains you, and assures you that you are
never alone. Luke 1:46–47 — “My soul doth magnify
the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”
Interestingly, you must learn not to postpone
your joy until everything becomes perfect. But, learn to appreciate God's
goodness today. Yes, spend time with Him in prayer, delight in His Word, obey
His instructions, and cultivate a heart of gratitude. Acts 16:25 - “And
at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God...” So, Jesus
is not merely the source of eternal life; He is also the source of lasting joy
no matter the storm. Remember, the closer you walk with Him, the more you
discover the beauty of living in His presence. And the question is, are you finding
your happiness in Jesus, or you are allowing that circumstance to determine your
joy? I pray Jesus’s presence will be the source of your unending joy in Jesus
name.
Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, thank You for the joy of
knowing You, also teach me to find my happiness in Your presence rather than in
changing circumstances as you fill my
heart with Your peace in Jesus name
Action Point: Friends take a few moments today to thank
Jesus for three things He has done for you, and consciously choose to walk with
Him in joy.
