Text: Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a
good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Friends, walking with God is a journey of faith and absolute
confidence in Him. Hence, we develop ourselves by consistent growth, obedience,
and perseverance in the truth. It is not a journey in which we become perfect
overnight, nor is it a journey without challenges. There will be seasons when
we feel spiritually strong and other seasons when we struggle with uncertainty,
disappointment, or weakness. 2 Corinthians 5:7 -
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” But, we must learn to keep
walking with God. Like Paul whose confidence is that the God who began with him
is able to perform all. This gives us hope that our spiritual growth is not
dependent on our strength alone but on God's faithfulness as we continue to
follow Him. So, when you fall short, repent and learn rather than allowing
guilt to keep you away from Him. Romans 4:20–21 - He staggered not at the promise of God
through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully
persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Interestingly, we saw that as we consider the disciples who
walked with Jesus. They did not understand everything immediately. They
sometimes misunderstood His teachings, struggled with fear, and needed
correction. Yet Jesus continued teaching and preparing them for the work ahead.
Hebrews 10:35–36 - Cast not away therefore your
confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of
patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the
promise. Their journey reminds us that spiritual growth involves
learning, correction, and continued dependence on God. So, do not give up on
your walk with God. But return to His Word, maintain a life of prayer, obey
what He teaches you, and seek fellowship with other believers as a lifestyle. Remember,
God's faithfulness is not permission to live carelessly; it is encouragement to
keep growing in faith and obedience as God will help us in Jesus name.
Prayer Point: Father, thank You for the good work in us and may You
strengthen our faith and help us to remain steadfast in our walk with You, in
Jesus' name
Action Quote: Friends, do not give up on your walk with God,
because spiritual growth takes time and does not happen overnight.
