Text: John 8:12 (KJV)
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am
the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
Friends, light is essential because it helps us see clearly,
identify our direction, and avoid obstacles along the way. So, our spiritual
lives need the light that comes from Jesus Christ as to shine in this world of
darkness. Therefore, without His guidance, we make decisions based on fear, or
worldly opinions with limited understanding. But, Jesus declared that He is the
Light of the world, showing us that true spiritual direction and life are found
in Him. Psalm 119:105 says, Thy word is a lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto my path. God's Word illuminates our path by
teaching us His principles and helping us distinguish between what is right and
what is wrong. When we read and obey the Scriptures, we gain wisdom for our
decisions, relationships, responsibilities, and daily conduct. Psalm 27:1 - The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom
shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Amazingly, when the Israelites journeyed through the
wilderness, the Lord went before them in a pillar of fire by night to give them
light. Also, God provided direction during an uncertain journey. Similarly,
Jesus guides those who follow Him, even when they cannot see the entire road
ahead. Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages us to trust in the
Lord with all our hearts and acknowledge Him in all our ways, with the
assurance that He will direct our paths. Therefore, do not allow the
darkness of confusion determine your direction. Rather, keep your eyes on
Jesus, meditate on His Word, and allow His truth to shape your choices as we continue
walking in the light we have received from God, daily in Jesus name.
Prayer Point:
Lord Jesus, shine Your light into every area of
my life as you deliver me from spiritual darkness into Your truth in Jesus'
name.
Action Quote:
Friends, when you allow Jesus to be your Light,
His Word will guide your decisions and strengthen your faith for right living.
