Text: Psalm 1:2 (KJV)
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Friends, delighting yourself in God’s Word means finding joy, guidance, and strength in what God has spoken. The Word of God is not meant to be something we read only when we are facing challenges; it should become part of our daily lives that brings out the juice out of life. Psalm 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. When we delight in God’s Word, we allow His truth to shape our thoughts, decisions, and actions. Sometimes, we look everywhere for answers, encouragement, and direction, forgetting that God has already given us His Word. Joshua 1:8 reminds us that “But thou shalt meditate therein day and night…” so meditating on God’s Word helps us to walk wisely and prosper in the things He has called us to do.
Amazingly, the more we spend time in God’s Word, the more we understand His heart and recognize His voice. Jeremiah 15:16 - Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart. Therefore, make God’s Word your source of wisdom, comfort, and direction. Let it become something you genuinely desire, not something you do out of obligation as to enjoy the sweetness in it. As you delight in His Word, your life will be strengthened and established in Him in Jesus name.
Prayer Point:
Father, give me a deeper desire for Your Word and help me to delight in it every day in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Friends, make God’s Word your delight, because what you continually feed your heart will shape the direction of your life.
