Text: Genesis 37:3
Now Israel loved Joseph
more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made
him a coat of many colours.
Friends, the coat of flavour is a reminder that
God can place His hand upon a person in a way that distinguishes them for His
divine purpose. In Joseph’s life, the coat of many colours was more than a
garment; it became a symbol of love, distinction, and a unique calling upon his
life. It represented the favour that set him apart in his father’s house. Yet,
this favour also attracted jealousy, hatred, and misunderstanding from those
around him. This shows us that favour is not always convenient, because what
God places upon your life can stir opposition from people who do not understand
His plan for you. However, the coat of flavour was not the end of Joseph’s
story; it was only the beginning of God’s process in his life. Though his
brothers stripped him of that coat, they could not strip him of the favour,
purpose, and destiny God had ordained for him. The coat was taken, but the
calling remained. Psalm 5:12 - For thou, Lord, wilt
bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Remember, there are seasons when people may try
to fight what God is doing in your life, but no one can cancel the purpose of
God over you. Romans 11:29 says, “For the gifts and
calling of God are without repentance.” What God has spoken
concerning you still stands, even when circumstances seem to say otherwise. So, the coat of flavour teaches us that
divine favour can make you stand out, but it also requires humility, wisdom,
and trust in God. Favour is not just for appearance; it is for assignment. God
places His favour on you so that His purpose can be fulfilled through your
life. Therefore, do not despise the process that comes with this coat of flavour,
and do not allow opposition to make you doubt what God has placed upon you. The
same God who gave Joseph the coat of favour preserved him through rejection,
lifted him through hardship, and brought him into fulfillment. May God clothe
you with His favour and keep you standing in His purpose in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Lord, clothe me with Your favour and help me to walk in humility, wisdom, and
boldness as I fulfill the purpose You have ordained for my life in Jesus’ name.
Action Quote: Remember, when God places His coat of favour
upon your life, opposition may arise, but no one can take away the destiny
attached to His hand upon you.
