Text: 1Peter2:2-3 (KJV)
As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that
ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Friends, as we step into this new month, God is inviting us back to the
most important table which is His Word.In John 4, the Samaritan woman
met Jesus at the well. What started as a simple request for water became a
life-changing encounter. Jesus told her that whoever drinks of the water He
gives will never thirst again, it will become a spring of water flowing unto
eternal life. After tasting that living water, her life never remained the
same.In the same way, the Word of God is our most delicious spiritual meal. When
a baby is born, the first nourishment is milk. The child craves it naturally
because it satisfies and strengthens. Medically, milk builds immunity and helps
the baby grow. Spiritually, God gives us His Word as our sincere milk. Once you
truly taste it, you begin to crave it.As Psalm 34:8
says, “O taste and see that the Lord is good.”The Word nourishes,
strengthens, and preserves us. It equips us to fight battlesspiritually,
emotionally, and even physically. Many struggles today stem from spiritual
malnourishment. Some try to grow without feeding on the basics. But just as a
newborn cannot eat solid food immediately, believers must first grow through
the milk of the Word.
Amazingly, Hebrews5:14- But strong meat
belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Also, reminds us that strong meat belongs to the mature those who have
trained their senses through consistent use. Growth is progressive. As we feed
daily on God’s Word, we develop discernment to distinguish good from evil.Paul
also said in 1Corinthians3:2- I have fed you
with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither
yet now are ye able. That means he fed believers
with milk because they were not yet ready for meat. This teaches us
humilitynever outgrow the basics. Never lose your hunger for the Word. This
month, return to the table. Make Scripture your daily meal. Refuse spiritual
starvation. Crave the Word like a newborn craves milk - with urgency,
consistency, and delight. When you feed on it daily, you will grow steadily. You
will not be spiritually weak. You will rise strong in Jesus name.
