The Power of the Secret Place

 

Text: Psalm 91:1 (KJV)

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

Friends, the secret place is not a physical location rather it is a spiritual position. Hence, it is the place of intimacy, communion, and undistracted fellowship with the father. It is where your voice is not competing with noise, and your heart is fully open before your Maker. We can freely pour our hearts concerning any issue as burden from family to health or emotional even spiritual matters to our heavenly father who hears and answers all. However, it is where strength is renewed, direction is received, burdens are exchanged, and identity is affirmed. Many want public power, but few are willing to cultivate private intimacy. For instance, before Jesus performed miracles publicly, He often withdrew privately.  Luke 5:16- And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. So, the power we see in public is actually born from encounters in private. So, let’s activate our secret altars for open reward, today.

Interestingly, we can see this in the life of David as a king, yet he valued solitude with God. Many of the Psalms were written from moments of deep personal fellowship. Psalm 63:1 - “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee…” Proverbs 18:10-The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.  His secret worship produced public victories. Even, Daniel maintained a disciplined prayer life despite political pressure as he prayed three times daily. His consistency in the secret place delivered him from the lions’ den. I pray God will teach us to dwell under His shadow daily as He strengthen our spirit with discipline to seek Him continually in Jesus’ name, Amen.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, draw me back to the secret place as you help me to desire Your presence more than public recognition in Jesus name.
