Awake the Master

 

Text: Mark 4:37-38 (KJV)

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

Friends, at what point do you actually involve JESUS? Is it at the take-off, or when the storm is already raging? But the good news is that it is never too late with God, but wisdom says: don’t wait rather involve Him early before the storm peaks.In Gospel of John 11:11, Jesus said, “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.”In this case, Lazarus had been in the grave four days, yet the Master still showed up and reversed what looked final and helpless. So, what men called “dead,” Jesus called “sleep.” This morning Jesus is renaming that situation before you if only we can involve Him.No matter how long a situation has been buried and hopeless - dreams delayed, doors closed, hope fading, once the Master steps in, life returns. Mark 4:39“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

However, faith matures when we learn to involve Him early, not only in emergencies.Don’t start the journey alone and cry out only when stranded as many do and involve later. But, invite Him at the planning stage. Consult Him before decisions are made. Proverbs 3:5–6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.Recognize Him not merely as a passenger in your boat by just carrying Him, but as the One steering and driving the trip of your life. Though when you walk with Him from the beginning, storms may still arisebut they will not define the end of your story for He cares and we shall not perish in the storm in Jesus name.

Prayer Points

1. Lord, teach me to involve You early in every decision and project, before the storm ever rises in Jesus name
2. Master, step into every situation in my life that seems delayed or dead, and awaken it by Your power in Jesus name.
