Text: Luke 5:36-38(KJV)
And
he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon
an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was
taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man putteth new wine into
old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the
bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are
preserved.
Congratulations
and Happy New Year 2026
Friends, we must learn to be
intentional in deleting from our memory the old negative experiences before it
affects your new version. Hence, leaving the old for the new is a call to
release what God has already in stock for us. We can’t embrace the new without
walking away from the old. Yes, the old can block your view of the fresh things
God is doing. He cannot pour the new wine into the old wineskin because it can
sour the fresh taste of your beauty. 2 Cori. 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become new. Therefore, holding the past
pain, past shame, past frustration whether in mindset or habit can slow down
your moving forward. So, we should not allow the past to shape us as it cannot
define our future rather we should see the future as the promise of God that
will outshine the negative past. Phi.3:13-14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have
apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Amazingly, it will interest you
to know that God’s new agenda opens up when our comfort ends and we submit to
Him. This will make it very clear that
it is the finger of God at work. But, as we step into the unknown by the help
of God, it helps us to build confidence in the promise of God and not on self. Hence,
we should not even ponder on the old so that it does not cloud our minds for
the new. Isaiah 43:18-19 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. However,
it requires our trust in God, obedience and absolute willingness to His plan. I
encourage us to surrender the old today as we lay it at the feet of Jesus for
exchange and restoration. And I pray, we shall let go of different pains for
our relief in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh Lord, help us to leave the old things that does not
align with God behind and may we walk boldly into the new You have prepared for
us in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Remember,
moving forward positions you to receive God’s new plans and agenda.
