Text: Proverbs 4:23
KJV - Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life
NIV - Above all
else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it
Friends, we have to watch over what we allow into
our minds as it is a gateway to good and evil. This determines what makes our
thought what it is today and what become of us in the future. Therefore, let’s
be spiritually discipline to watch over our minds. It is a major gateway to our
existence. Unfortunately, many minds have been harmed by this careless
lifestyle. We can learn to pause as a habit before reacting as well as control
to limit our violent media engagement. Philippians
4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Hence, we can replace the
negative words with the truth of God’s words as a guarding principle into our
mind gate today. So, refuse what corrupts rather embrace what builds up.
However, our prayers, worship, Holy Spirit and scriptural encounters when
flooded in our hearts replaces the toxic thoughts for a productive outcome. So,
we should not allow the enemy to seek access into our minds but we should allow
the Word to shield and filter our minds daily. Psalm
119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine
heart, that I might not sin against thee
Amazingly, we can decide what stays in our
memory. The decision is ours, as we can filter negative substance from gaining
access into us by a consistent stay with God. Isaiah
26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. I encourage us to discard
unwanted news that flash into our memories this season because they can trigger
fear, anxiety and unwanted habits if not regulated. Let’s shape our mind input
and our inner responses today. Remember, a city gate determines what enters and
leaves therein, so your mind filters thoughts, ideas, and influences your
decision. I pray we shall keep away destructive thoughts in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, help us to guard the mind
gate with God’s Word, prayer, and discernment, then we shall begin to flow
peace, truth, and wisdom today in Jesus name.
