Recognize and be grateful to others

 

Text: 2Samuel 9:3 (KJV)

And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

Friends, there is an attitude that we must cultivate and requires a new heart of gratitude. It is important you recognize the good in others who had supported you over the years. Remember, being grateful to people is one virtue that is fading in this generation and we can see that helping and assisting people is no longer valued. But, David made the uncommon to become valid. Yes, from the scripture above, we have an example in the Bible, David, he asked, is there not yet anyone left in the family line of Saul that he could show the kindness of God to for his friend’s (Jonathan) sake? Wow, how nice of him. He remembered the good times with His friend. 1Thessolonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do

Interestingly, the act of gratitude is a show of affection as an honour and appreciation that we should give to someone who has rendered any form of help to us. It is vital we express gratitude to whosoever have shown any form assistant to you, whether physical, spiritual, emotional, financial, academic etc. But, the best appreciation is to someone who has no capacity, no word, no pasture to pay back like the Mephibosheth - the lame son of Jonathan who was in Lo-debar which was a desolate and forgotten place. 1Corinthians 10:24- No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.  So, when we make a habit of recognizing the good in others, we not only uplift them but also reflect God's love. Truly, gratitude is an encouragement that can transform a discouraged heart, kindness that can restore a weary soul, and appreciation that can build lasting relationships today. And we know that God will always arrange a help no matter our location today only if we form the habit of sowing a seed of good to others in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1)  Father help us to recognize minimal services in others and not to follow the negative trends of the world of unthankful in Jesus name.
