The horn of Oil

 

Text: 1Samuel 16:13 (KJV)

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So, Samuel rose up, and went in Ramah. 

Friends, there is a point one is left stagnated without knowing. So, one of the major evident of the Spirit of God is movement and never at the same spot. The horn of oil is for consecration which separates us for a special task. The manifestation of God’s presence brought about a shift of position, and this is what we all need in a time like this. And from the scripture above we can see that when Samuel took the horn oil, it was to anoint David for acceleration. Psalm.89:20-21 I found David my servant: with my holy oil have I anointed him. With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. The anointing brings Gods vitality that empowers you mightily the rest of your life that even the enemy cannot exact upon you by afflicting you with wickedness, And the anointing upon David made him to move forward from that day. Therefore, the anointing is not just a physical sign but the spirit of the living God is being transferred upon the man and he will begin to do exploits.

Amazingly, for David, immediately the anointing came upon him, it brought about referrers, recognition and boldness. It is the anointing that brings about divinity which in turn brings distinction before others. Thereafter, the anointing upon him, made the servant of Saul say I have seen a son of Jesse who is prudent in matters and cunning in playing and in all the Lord is with him. And Saul sent for David where he stood before him and he loved him greatly. Indeed, the Spirit of God on him made him a hero, statesman, scholar, wise and far-sighted king.  And today God is bringing us to a place of honour by reason of the anointing because it brings us to place of favour in the sight of God and man. And this shall be our story today in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

1.        Oh Lord, bring us to a place of honour and greatness by reason of your special election with fresh oil for a running over blessings in Jesus name.
