God of NEXT chance

 

Text: 1Samuel.3:10 (KJV)

And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

Friends, God is still calling men and women into His purpose and agenda by divine order. Also, the goodnews is that God still presents to us another chance and another opportunity, even when we have lost the previous. So, I can say that God is a good God as He is a God of next chance. We are looking at the life of Samuel as a case study. As a little child, he had no personal revelation of whom God is. But with the presence of his mentor the priest Eli, he was able to get direction to connect to the voice of God even when He call missed the first call and the second call. God did not abandon him at the time of ignorance and distraction as it is common with many people today. So, God is not done with you.

Interestingly, we can see in his story that the Lord called him three times. This story teaches us that God does not give up on man despite all storms.  What a great privilege in Him. Indeed, He is still present; we need to calm down and listen carefully to Him because He is still speaking. John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.  He knows and calls us by our names, so we must be at the right location, tune to His channel to pick the frequency of his voice with His signal as to understand what he is saying per time.  Indeed, God used Eli to connect Samuel to His voice.  Proverbs 15:22 - Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.  May we not run to wrong advisers, so that we don’t miss the original purpose of God for our lives because of wrong mentors because many purposes have been diverted because of unhealthy advisers. I pray that God will deliver us from such hired counsellors in Jesus name

PRAYER POINT:

1.       Oh Lord, may we hear clearly and understand the next phase of our calling as we humble ourselves back to our source in Jesus name.

ACTION QUOTE: Friends, may we not go for the alternative advice in the midst of clouded vision.
