Walk with right company

 

Text: Proverb 13:20 (KJV)

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Friends, from the scripture above, we are encouraged to follow the wise as to grow wiser.  If God also saw the need and made a companion for Adam in the book of Genesis., we too need to walk in that pathway.  Remember, significant work is left for you to identify the suitable companion in every circle you find yourself.  God allows us to connect ourselves with right people because we need association that can motivate us to drive our dreams well. So, this is a critical aspect of a joyful living which we must choose carefully.  Proverb12:26 (NIV) The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. You must learn to define your close associates and distant friends, so you don’t suffer by exchanging your distant friends to become very close associates. It can be frustrating and denting.

Interestingly, you must identify your horizontal companion and your vertical companion. The question is, who is surrounding you?  We need people ahead of us and still people at our level and others below us. Each has its impact, so learn to watch out for that. Some friends will be bold to criticize you when you are wrong, don’t misinterpret that as wrong associates because they have a contribution to correct and give you some feedback. Proverb 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Do not hang around with unexcited, unwilling fellows because they dampen your countenance, but God will deliver us from such unreasonable men in Jesus name.

1.Father help me to develop myself to that good friend that will give good advice and be an improvement to my friend's lives in Jesus name.
