Faith vs fear

Text: Eph 2:8-9 (ESV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Note:

We were born into this world with sin, due to this sin there are things we fear ( it might be the fear of sinning, darkness, failure, loneliness, death and so on).

Research shows that when we are born, we are born with only two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. However, as we grow up and experience many more things in our lives, our fears multiplies and it differs from people to people, but what differentiates us (as Christians) from those fears which are numerous is faith.

Faith is the light that shines in through the tunnel. It is the compass which directs us when we have lost direction. Faith is what you have left when everything else seems so far away. It isn’t always easy to have faith, but it is always necessary. Faith is what gives us as Christians the strength to carry on despite our circumstances.

In 2 Timothy 1:7 it says, 'For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.'

God does not want us to remain in our fears for the rest of our lives. He wants us to exercise faith which is completely trust in Him. With this faith in God, we can go by our every day lives with confidence to be His people here on earth.

The question is: Is our faith greater than our fears?

Our God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, the one who divides seas and shuts the lion's mouth, who knows the beginning from the end, who is the same yesterday, today and forever, who is all powerful, who is higher that the highest and greater that the greatest is the God we are serving and having faith in. Why don't you try to experience what it is to have faith in him and see that happens?

Quote: Our fears are great, but our God is greater.

 Prayer:

Ÿ  God, please give us the grace to have complete faith in you.

Ÿ  God, please whatever fear we have in us, please overpower them in our lives with faith, in Jesus name.
