Lay Aside Heaviness

 

Text: Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

 

There are times in life; we engage in unnecessary things that are loads and weigh us down which draw us back from achieving speed and results. Certain times, we drop A and carry B which is still weighing us down from living right, and they stand as a yoke, which is so little but too difficult to drop on less by the help of God. Seeing, we have existing load surrounding us that we need to deal with, do not add extra ones because it hinders speedy achievements. There are thingswe are pursuing so,let’s be focused. The crowd may stand as weight, but your mind must be single. James 1:8- A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. There are little weeds that spoil the vine; we must be careful toidentify them and strip them off from us. Do not allow spiritual and parasitic luggages to hinder or slow us from fulfilling our target. We have a model champion (JESUS) who both began and finished strong, so do not be distracted from Him. Also, do not lose sight of where you are heading to because of the weight; instead, drop off the EXTRA.    

 

Colossians 3:8- But now ye also put off all these; anger, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. The old nature we carried into this world needs to drop and must not be allowed to slow us down because it is not part of God’s kingdom. They have a way to limit our output and relationship with others; instead, we should put on the new nature, so drop off all the things and people influencing your decisions or actions negatively in Jesus name.

 

PRAYER POINT:

1.      Father, help us to identify the secret weaknesses we are dealing with and give us the ability to drop them off, in Jesus name.
