Text: Acts 3:6(KJV)
Then Peter said Silver and
Gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth rise up and walk.
This is a well known story about the
beggar at the beautiful gate who is lame from his mother’s womb. It has become
a routine as he is carried daily and laid at the gate of the temple asking for
alms from people entering the temple but he never enter the temple. But there
is a request that brings about balance to our life journey. Therefore, let’s be careful so we don’t loose
our deciding moment for the miraculous because of pattern. And we should be
careful to make the right request that will bring about wholeness. The
scripture above put him back to the best request of his life and not physical
pleasure which will keep him a beggar for life. Romans 8:26 Likewise
the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought ….
Interestingly, Peter and John went to
his real need and not temporary satisfaction. The question is, are we making
the right request because oftentimes we ask amiss that is why we don’t receive.
James 4:3 Ye ask and receive not because we ask amiss,
that ye may consume it upon your request. But Peter and John perceived the best
need that will bring him to the place of destiny fulfillment which is the name
of JESUS CHRIST. This is what gave him strength on his feet and ankle bones and
he began to walk, leap and praising God. Note that he was no longer at the same
location or position but there was a positive shift that ended him in praising
God. God help us to make the right and
balance request at the hour of prayer in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
1. Father, may there be immediate help to
every feeble case around me in Jesus name.
Action Quote: Friends, what need do you want to meet – physical or balanced need?
