Text: 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV)
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
In our world of today, we are
exposed to a lot of things, it could be either good news or bad news and I know
how you react whenever to hear either of them; but the question is, have you
ever thought of the gospel of Christ as a good news or an eye opener? We know whenever we
hear either good or bad news, we try to check the credibility of the source
before we accept the news, but there is a source (the word of God) which is
always true and aa the world
blind from the truth the gospel reveals the mind of God to us. We are
meant to hunger for this kind of source and digest it. The truth is there are a lot of good news in the
bible and it has information on the past, present and future. It usually
delivers good news and it has real solution to any problem you may be facing.
We have this good source of information before us, but the question is, do we
know how to use it? The Gospel of Good news is the most important resource in
our Christian belief and it is filled with diverse information and solutions.
God is so merciful and He has given us the Holy Spirit as our teacher. John 14:26- But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all that I said to you.
The truth is the Holy Spirit is an excellent teacher and He aims at revealing the light of the word of God to us. 2Corinthians4:6- For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. From our text of today, we are told that many people’s minds are blinded and that is why they cannot see the light that shines through the good news. To some people, they unknowingly rejected this light and this has resulted in them been deprived of the glory within, but God has shown us mercy that is why He has taken away our stony heart. Ezekiel 11:19b- And I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh. I tell you if you still have yours, please preserve it because it is precious. There are a lot of distractions out there in the world, but we have to filter them and this can be done by us opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit. Once you do that, your life will have a complete turnaround and never forget the Gospel itself is also agoodnews that opens our eyes to opportunities.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, please take away the stony hearts of the brethren among us, so as to enjoy the mysteries in the good news, in Jesus name.
2. God, please may the younger generation long and thirst for the word daily again, in Jesus name.
3. Father, may Your light flood the minds of many that has been blinded to this glorious news, in Jesus name
Action Quote: Remove the scaleover your sight as you dig deeper in
the WORD.
