Text: Psalms 103:1-2 (KJV)
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
It is a wrong pattern that many people follow in a time of challenge, that there is nothing to thank God for, and that is because they have not thought of God's goodness in their life as they tend to forget all the beautiful memories because of the present concern. In our scripture above, David counted all the blessings God has done for him, and he instructed his soul also to bless God. If you don’t forcefully command your members to bless God, the concerns of life will shut your mouth. God forbid!! He was so thankful to the point that his body was not enough so he commanded his soul to also bless God. Most of us are so busy that even our soul is also busy with the issues of life, but we must learn to command our soul to bless God intentionally which makes our worship a winning weapon. Also, when we worship and praise God deeply, ideas and answers start rolling in for those unanswered questions.
The kind of thanksgiving we give to God needs to change. We need to worship and bless God with our all. Always remember, God appreciates genuine and heartfelt worship, and that is what we should give to Him as a tool for triumph. 2 Corinthians 9:7b- for God loveth a cheerful giver. John 4:24- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Our mouths and life has been filled with good things even in time past, so we are not meant to keep our mouths shut. Instead, we are meant to move to another level of intimate worship as a weapon to our victory in this challenging time. Therefore, it is in persistent worship that we birth our all round testimonies in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS:
1) Father, may we get to a point revelation as to still worship God with our all in a time like this in Jesus name.
2) Oh Lord, please take us to the point of brokenness at the altar of worship, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE: Can you imagine deep worship at the time of hopelessness? It takes maturity.
