Hold on to the good fight of faith

 

Text: 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Our calling is not just to have faith in God, but we are to hold onto eternal life because faith is our selling tool so we must guide it jealously as we stick to in the battles of life. There is no impossibility with faith encounter no matter the challenge. In a race, victory is not dashed to every participant; there have to be several exercises before coming out on the lime line as a Champion. You have to strive to win on life issues.  It is not in the look or size of who you carry but the size of who is inside of you and the revelation of what you know about Him for a battle to be won.  James 2:17- Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  In our scripture above, we are told to fight a good fight of faith. I know we must have experienced defeat at various times before now. Why? It is because of ignorance, fear, unbelief, wrong tradition etc.  Friends, those defeats should have taught us some lessons on the mistakes we made. Amazingly, we are soldiers of Christ with a weapon that victory has been declared to our favour, which is our faith in Christ, and we are meant to use it to survive in this world. It is time for formative words to win the adversary.

The question is, how do you fight? This fight is not a physical battle, rather it is the one you fight with your belief, and with a positive and bold confession to preserve your inheritance . And it is a good fight because the battle is won already by our saviour as we are fighting from the winning side. In this fight, you win it even before contending, and that is because you have faith in God no matter the size.  Matthew 17:20- And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. In the wrestling ring, the opponent usually intimidates the counterpart as they are coming into the battlefield with a lot of gimmicks displayed into the ring. They talk with authority, and that is how they win, so I urge you not to live and fight with that fear, but instead have confidence and speak the Word of God positively into your battle and not to cry. I pray God will make you win in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus, may I not be intimidated with fear by the threatening voice of the opposition, in Jesus name.

2. Father, may I always see the glory ahead to persist on that battle for my victory, in Jesus name.
